‘Bones’ Season 10 Spoilers, Premiere Recap: Cast Reacts to Shocking Major Death in ‘The Conspiracy in the Corpse’ [INTERVIEW]
'Bones' Season 10 opened on a shocking note with the death of FBI psychologist Lance Sweets on Thursday night. The event was unexpected, especially since John Francis Daley's character was in the process of helping special agents Seeley Booth and Temperance Brennan resolve a case.
In an interview with USA Today, Daley admitted that he "cried like a baby for a minute" while shooting his last scene, "There was a brotherly relationship that Sweets had with Booth, a real bond, a real friendship,"
He added, "I remember how it had choked up David, shooting that scene, and Emily. They were both pretty emotional during that time. Most of my 20s were spent on that show and, fortunately, it's an incredible family. The last day was sad and surreal for me."
Executive producer Stephen Nathan said that Sweet's death would equate to darker situations in the coming episodes, especially since the character brings the lighter side of the story.
"What I particularly liked was the manner in which Sweets went out. He went out caring first about (Booth and Brennan). He was giving Booth a final bit of advice, because he knew how difficult this was coming back in and that he couldn't trust anybody," Nathan said commenting on how Sweets was successful as a supporting actor.
But Sweets will not die in vain because Booth and Brennan are even more determined to seek justice for the sake of Daley's son. Also, Daisy's pregnancy should be able to give 'Bones' a different light, romance, and humor into every character.
