Boardwalk Empire Season 5 Spoilers: HBO Releases Ominous Trailer

As the summer comes to an end, so will the 'Broadwalk Empire', a crime/ period television drama on HBO, and it does not seem that fans will find a happy ending for their favorite characters. Meanwhile, HBO has released a teaser for the final season of the show in anticipation for the Season 5 premiere this September.

Talking to Den of Geek, actor Michael K. Williams asserted that viewers will witness 'Broadwalk Empire' taking a time jump and moving ahead by seven years, putting the characters in the Depression Era. Moreover, the new teaser trailer released by HBO makes it certain that the viewers are aware that the things have turned for the worst in this crime drama.

The trailer begins with a frightening version of Three Dog Night's hit song, "One (is the Loneliest Number)." While the song plays, a man, who we assume is Nucky Thompson, is seen standing alone on the Atlantic City boardwalk. Soon, the viewers see flashes of men in business meetings, showgirls dancing, gangsters with guns, and the words "All Empires Fall" between the clips.

In the last scene of the teaser, viewers see a gun shooting an unknown person off the screen, while Nucky Thompson says, "The trick's to stay alive long enough to cash out."

As the words "No one goes quietly" appears on the screen, the teaser for the 'Broadwalk Empire' final season comes to an end.

As it stands, things do not seem to be good for the characters of 'Broadwalk Empire' in the final season of the show. The trailer is certainly ominous and makes one wonder, which characters will survive and prosper till the end.
