Blink 182 New Album Release Date, Mark Hoppus Says 'Spring/Summer 2014' (VIDEO)

Blink-182 fans have some exciting news to hang on to. There will be a new Blink record in 2014 'late spring/early summer'.

The band when on a 'indefinite hiatus' in Feb 2005. Drummer Travis Barker was in a serious plane crash in 2008 and Mark and Tom started visiting him in the hospital. This started connecting the guys again and helped the band reunite.

The band didn't play a show from Dec 2004 to May 2009. They reunited to release their sixth studio LP Neighborhoods in 2011 and then parted ways with their label Interscope Records.

They have been touring regularly since then but had no plans of a full length record before now. They did release an EP in December 2012 call Dogs Eating Dogs.

Singer/bassist, Mark Hoppus spoke with Kerrang about their writing process.

"It always happens when the three of us are together in a room," said Hoppus of writing. "Because when [we're not touring], Tom lives in San Diego, Travis lives in Los Angeles and I live in London, so we don't really talk all that much. But then when we get in a room together, it all falls into place and we start making jokes. That's when we start writing songs and reconnecting with everything."

Blink-182 does have some tour dates in September including headlining Riot Fest in Denver and Chicago.
