'Blade Runner 2' News: Dutch Actress Sylvia Hoeks Added To 'Blade Runner 2' Cast As Female Lead?

The highly anticipated sequel to "Blade Runner" is starting to make headway, with another one of its female leads officially unveiled recently.

Alcon Entertainment announced that Dutch actress Sylvia Hoeks will join the sequel of the sci-fi classic as the female lead, although details concerning her role are still unknown. This was confirmed by Alcon Entertainment's co-founders and co-CEOs, Andrew Cosove and Broderick Johnson.

"Sylvia is a radiant talent, a tremendous actress with great appeal in a wide variety of roles. Her addition to this vastly accomplished international cast is a perfect fit," said Cosove.

Hoeks is famous both on stage and television in Europe and has been nominated for and won a wide range of awards in acting. Among the prominent movies she appeared in are "Tirza," ""Het Meisie en de Dood" "Duska," and "The Storm." The biggest role she has played so far prior to her enlistment in "Blade Runner 2" is "The Best Offer," where she worked alongside Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush. Her role in the upcoming sequel of "Blade Runner" is expected to serve as her stepping stone to Hollywood, especially if the film makes it big in the box office and becomes a commercial hit.

Aside from the Dutch actress, other actors enlisted in the film are Robin Wright, Ryan Gosling, Dave Bautista and Ana de Armas. Harrison Ford of  the first installment of"Blade Runner" will also reprise his role as Rick Deckard.

The film starts production in July and is expected to hit theaters in fall of 2017.
