Hannah New will be joining the cast of 'Black Sails' for its Season 2, and she went as far as to disclose some information about her character for eager and anxious fans in a recent interview with Collider.

Eleanor is the name of the new character that will be joining the show, and she's going to be known for her domineering qualities. Apparently, New's character is set to be the "woman in charge."

What's more, is that her character will be cold-hearted, and share a vision with Captain Flint about what they should do to serve the world for the greater good. However, Hanna New says that the role is "fun," considering that she's going to play character that will be a "formidable force" on the show.

"The stakes are always so high in the show. Everything she deals with either has the threat of violence or the threat of her business going under. She has so much to deal with, and she can't deal with it lightly. She has to go in heavy-handed, and that's a very fun way to deal with situations. Sometimes I wish I could do the same," she said of her character, Eleanor.

She went on to say how she came about being cast on the show. First, she encountered the production team in London, where they had just finished shooting for the Disney film 'Maleficent', and auditioned for her part. She made mention that she liked her character right of the bat, which prompted her to come back for a second audition, and the subsequent third and fourth ones as well.

By the time she had done a script reading (her fourth audition) said "I have to do this! I want it so badly."

She went on to mention that her character was incapable of loving, "Being a visionary and having an ideal that goes beyond her own personal desires or emotions means that she constantly has to subjugate her own desires, in order to fulfill this much bigger ambition that she has. That's a constant trial. I think she's constantly internally battling with that," she said.
