Billy Ray Cyrus 'Achy Breaky 2' Video Shows Signs That His Christian 'Faith has Been Shaken' (Video)
Popular country music singer father of famous Pop star Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus ditches his wholesome southern Country roots in reprised song and video of his 1992 country hit "Achy Breaky Heart."
In the video we see 52 year-old Cyrus performing his old hit now called "Achy Breaky 2" a hip-hop remix with producer-turned-rapper Buck 22.
"I rather be lucky, than good" Buck 22 raps as Cyrus sings his famous chorus. The song references Miley's famed twerking moves as several scantily clad women twerk and gyrate around the two men.
Buck 22 raps, "Miley keeps on twerkin', daddy's song is werkin'" and we then hear Cyrus throw a "Wrecking Ball" into the lyrics, as well.
In an interview with Piers Morgan, after his daughters extremely publicized VMA's performance (one of the most talked about occurrences of 2013) Cyrus opens up about the incidence.
"Miley's smart enough to know that to come out of the shadows of 'Hannah Montana,' it really takes something extremely drastic, which when you go to that level, it creates passion, and passion is either love or hate. But there's no middle of the road for passion," he said, adding that the performance pushed his daughter to new heights.
"She has risen to a whole new level. I thought I had seen it all -- until these last couple of weeks." he told CNN's Morgan
Critics are wondering if Cyrus is following in his daughter's "passion" to take kick off his own career again.
Cyrus has released twelve studio albums since 1992 and scored a total of eight top-ten singles on the Billboard Country Songs chart. He then made his way into acting and began to co-star in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana with his daughter Miley until 2011.
In an interview with GQ Magazine the father of six stated that he regretted having his daughter Miley in the "Hannah Montana Show" and also admitted to having made serious errors as parent.
Cyrus a professing Christian confessed that the entire family got baptized and were cautious of the temptations within the entertainment industry before to going to Los Angeles.
"Somewhere along this journey, both mine and Miley's faith has been shaken," he said. "That saddens me the most." He acknowledged there is "no doubt" that his family is being ruined by Satan.
