Spoilers for 'The Big Bang Theory' have yet to emerge as writers for the show are still working on the story for Season 8, however, sources say that a major change will affect one of the primary characters in the series.

During Friday's San Diego Comic-Con 2014 event, the show's panel revealed that some changes will happen to Kaley Cuoco's character Penny. According to Chuck Lorre, Penny will decide to leave her pursuit of acting behind her.

On the Season 7 finale, Leonard proposed to Penny just after she was fired from her acting job, this created some speculation that they would not really be getting married come Season 8.

Previous spoilers about the upcoming installment confirmed that Leonard and Penny would indeed be getting married. This leaves questions about how Penny will be able to help support her new family.

Apparently, after she leaves her acting behind, she will begin to earn money from a totally different job. During the Comic-Con event, it was revealed that her new line of work will deal with the pharmaceutical industry. Also, the dynamic of Leonard and Penny's relationship will change, partly to due with Penny's new job.

Lorre added that since one will not be making as much money as the other, a power imbalance will form in the relationship.

Beyond that, Penny's mother is also said to make an appearance on the show, but casting has not confirmed as to who will be playing that role. In the meantime, Cuoco is in talks about a pay raise as she gets set to sign the contract for the show.
