Beyonce's Super Bowl Halftime Show Inappropriate? Christian Artists Weigh In

The Super Bowl is over. The Baltimore Ravens won. The San Francisco 49ers lost. Needless to say, Thanksgiving at the Harbaugh house is going to be a little uncomfortable.

Many people want to believe football is a secular sport. It's violent and ruthless and causes participants lifetime injuries, all in the name of sport (and millions of dollars of course). However while watching the game last night, and stuffing my face full of nachos, I noticed my Facebook and Twitter blowing up with some of my favorite Christian artists weighing in on the action. What I found so fascinating was that most weren't weighing in on the actual game but instead the halftime performance.

Pop rock Christian artist on C2 Records, Cortini, posted on her Facebook:

"Who is watching the Super Bowl?? Ready for Beyonces performance!! ♥"

Detuned Radio Records Songwriter and East-Nashville native Matthew Smith was also anxious for Queen B:

"I LOVE YOU BEYONCE GIVE BLUE IVY A LITTLE KISS ON HER FOREHEAD FOR ME"

However, there was some backlash from others in the Christian community over the way Beyonce presented herself in a very revealing outfit.

Christian Gospel artist and acclaimed author Dr. Marvin Sapp found himself on the defensive after praising Beyonce's high-octane halftime show:

"Because I'm an artist..... I look at performance (vocals) and production (lighting and staging) all that other stuff y'all talking about isn't what I focused on. Her lifestyle is between her and God... Again #calmdowny'all"

Regardless of how she was dressed or how she maybe moved her body in some suggestive ways, I think we all know Queen B, direct descendent of Amazonian royalty, is a very talented singer who's been blessed by God to share her gift(s) to the world.
