Beyonce Tour: Singer 'Thank's God' and Cries on Last Date of Mrs Carter Tour (VIDEO)
Beyoncé finally wrapped up her tour after months spent on the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour on Thursday evening and the singer was brought to tears when addressing fans. She thanked God, and referenced part of a Bible scripture in her speech.
The Grammy-winning singer kicked off the concert series last April and made her final stop in Portugal, She took a moment in the set of her last show and broke down as she counted her blessings.
"I want a [spotlight]. I want them to see me. If you all don't know, tonight makes 132 shows," Beyoncé said, getting emotional as she spoke to the crowd. "Tonight is the last show of the Mrs. Carter Show. We started a year ago and I want to say this has been such a journey."
In the year since Mrs. Carter hit the road for her tour, she released her surprise, platinum-certified self-titled visual and musical album, made stops in four continents, and sold out shows in most of the major cities across the globe.
"In the past year, we've been through so much together," she continued. "The Super Bowl, shooting the videos, all of these shows. When I first started the tour, my baby was not even walking yet."
"I just want you to know that I am so lucky," Beyoncé said, as she began to cry, and raised her head and hands as in worship. "I'm giving y'all an ugly cry. Thank God. Thank you for allowing me to have a career. And when I fall, you lift me up. When I'm hungry, you feed me. And I just want to give you my light. I dedicate this song to you guys."
The singer has never shied away from mentioning God throughout the years. Early on with Destiny's Child, she was known to occasionally sing a few gospel numbers. Since the five time Grammy Award winning singer parted ways with the trio, the intensity of her Jesus-focused songs have slowed down dramatically.
Although many in social media peg her as pushing anti-Christian values with her over sexualized dance moves and lyrics, in her autobiographical television film, "Life Is But a Dream," Beyoncé talked openly about God. She stated that she is a result of her grandma's prayers.
"God is real, and God lives inside of me...Right now I'm hot. It's a tingling. It's love. I feel it when I look at my child. I feel it when I look at my husband. It's God," she said in the documentary.
