Just when so many people thought that A-list actor Ben Affleck as well as wife and actress Jennifer Garner were going to have a wonderful long family life together, since the two seem picture perfect, unfortunately the two have recently announced that they are divorcing.

Of course, life isn't perfect even though the two seemed to be really good for each other especially since they have already built a family with three kids. Their recent announcement that they were divorcing shocked many, but apparently the two have been reportedly not on the same page for a while now.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the pair, told E! News in a joint statement on Tuesday. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time," they added.

The two deeply asks for understanding why they wanted their privacy during this time. "This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding," the pair continued.

As to what happened between the two? No one really absolutely knows except the two Hollywood stars but it has been reported that Affleck and Garner had been trying hard to make their marriage work despite the difficulties.

"Things have been very challenging for the last several months," a source told E! News even claiming that the married couple had been trying to keep it together "because of the kids," and that they "have been living separate lives and preparing for this for a long time."

Rumors also suggest that "this is not a decision they came to lightly" and that they have tried attending several therapy sessions to make it work for two years already. The two had also tried to be separated for 10 months during which time Affleck has been staying at hotels, rumors suggest.

Right now, hopefully everyone respects their privacy and that they may continuously have the desire to co-parent their children despite their differences that led them to decide on having a divorce. On that note, the two had their 10th year anniversary yesterday.
