Beauty and the Beast is back for the remaining episodes of Season 2 leaving Vincent pinned against law enforcement while his wife trys to protect him.

Episode 18 Cat and Mouse sees Vincent on the run after an arrest over a murder case. Critics are expecting that Catherine and her husband's happily ever after remains a long shot given that the CW show is renewed for its third season.

Kristen Kreuk, who plays the role of Catherine, told TV Guide that the show will intensify as it progresses towards the season finale. Kreuk said that Catherine's dire attempt to rescue her husband is going to jeopardize her career.

Bustle also reported that since Ron Koslow's TV adaptation is renewed for another year, fans can expect there will be more collaboration with the FBI.

Catherine's former love interest, Gabe, will also resurface creating a "weird kind of relationship" between them, according to TV Guide's Robyn Ross.

Kreuk told TV Line, "Yeah, you'll see Catherine and Vincent working together, trying to figure stuff out. And we might even see more of Catherine's family history that's revealed. All of that, I think, will be more in line with what the fans gravitate toward. [As for Season 3] we don't know yet because it's still early, but what I think [exec producer] Brad [Kern] will want to do more of that in the 13 episodes that we do next season."

Beauty and the Beast airs Monday night on CW.
