Battlefield 4 Platoons Release Date: New Feature Arrived Yesterday and Aims to Connect Online Players Easier Through BattleLog
Battlefield 4's Platoon feature launched yesterday, and now gamers can meet up and coordinate much easier through the use of BattleLog.
The main features of Platoon are listed below:
"The ability to create and join a Platoon for up to 100 members, Basic Platoon management such as inviting, applying, and promoting/demoting members, A private and public Platoon feed, where you can communicate and coordinate, A Platoon emblem and tag that all members can easily apply, and The ability to earn stats for your Platoon and rank it up, and see all the matches you played together," wrote EA on the Battlefield blog.
In order to join Platoon, a player must have a Battlefield 4 Premium membership, which is $50, and a soldier ranked level 10 or more. Also, Platoon is expected to keep growing.
"We will continue to work on the feature to refine and expand it, but now we will finally have the opportunity to see it in action and get some real-world feedback. Now is the time for all our players to tell us what they like, what they want improved, and what they want to see next," DICE said on their site.
EA/DICE rolled out Platoon relatively soon considering they were still beta testing it this week.
"Very soon, we will release Platoons on Battlelog for Battlefield 4 (details to be announced very soon), but we want to give early access to a smaller group of players to test certain parts of the system before a full rollout and get some even earlier feedback," wrote TheBikingViking on BattleLog earlier this week. "So if you are interested in this, please let me know in this thread. If you can list your own, existing Platoon with all its members, you will have an even bigger chance of getting on the early access list."
Battlefield 4 is currently on the tale end of Player Appreciation Month, a promotion DICE is holding because of all the problems with the game.
