Batman vs Superman Movie News, Plot Rumors: Man of Steel Killed by Doomsday? (PHOTOS)

According to a new rumor, the Man of Steel will be killed by Doomsday in the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice film.

According to Latino-Review, the Banana Doc blog revealed some photos on set of the movie including some people placing flowers next to a fallen Superman statue, hinting at the possible death of the hero from the destroyed planet of Krypton.

If the report is accurate, then movie director Zack Snyder is being inspired by the classic Death of Superman comic book storyline from DC Comics in the 1990's.

In the iconic narrative, Superman gets shockingly killed by Doomsday (a merciless prehistoric creature who previously lived on Krypton before Superman's ancestors lived on the planet).

The Banana Doc blog also posted on set photos of Gotham City and Metropolis news vans appearing on the scene while potential mourners are carrying red flowers in tribute to their fallen superhero.

Fans of the comic book series also remember that during Superman's disappearance, four superheroes (Steel, Superboy, Cyborg and the Cyborg Superman) protected Metropolis until Superman was revived by the comic book company in 1993.

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) and Diane Lane (Martha Kent).

In addition, the list of stars that will also appear in the new Warner Bros. movie is as follows: Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto (rumored to play Luthor's personal assistant, bodyguard and hit woman Mercy Graves), and Oscar Award winning actress Holly Hunter.

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film is expected to arrive in movie theaters on May 6, 2016.
