The widely rumored and anticipated sequel to the upcoming "Batman vs Superman" movie - The Justice League movie - may be adding Ben Affleck's close friend Matt Damon to the all-star cast. The "The Bourne Ultimatum" actor may reportedly play original Justice League member, Aquaman.

Previously, Damon was also rumored to play Batman's sidekick Robin in the upcoming "Batman vs Superman" film but Damon personally squashed the rumor.

"I'm a little older than Ben," said Damon to People Magazine in August 2013. "I never saw Robin as older than Batman."

Damon also talked about seeing a photoshopped picture of him as the Boy Wonder alongside Affleck as the Caped Crusader.

"It was really funny," said Damon to People Magazine last August. "But it's safe to say I won't be Robin."

He also believes his friend will be awesome as the new Dark Knight in the future DC film.

"It will be terrific," said Damon, according to The Times of India. "I know there are a lot of people grousing on the Internet. I just think it's kind of funny. You know he's not playing King Lear - it's Batman! Certainly within his skill set."

It is now confirmed that the "Justice League" film will be directed by Zack Snyder. Snyder directed the "Man of Steel" film last year.

"It will be a further expansion of this universe," said Warner Bros. President of Worldwide Production Greg Silverman to The Wall Street Journal. "Superman vs Batman will lead into Justice League."

The upcoming "Batman vs Superman" film stars Henry Cavill (Clark Kent aka Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) and Diane Lane (Martha Kent).

In addition, new actors will also appear in the new Warner Bros. film, including Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

The "Batman vs. Superman" movie will appear in theaters on May 6, 2016. The "Justice League" film will is rumored to appear in theaters on May 5, 2017.
