'Batman vs Superman' Movie Cast Rumors and News: Bryan Cranston to Howard Stern, Lex Luthor Role Never Offered

Bryan Cranston, the star of the former AMC's hit series "Breaking Bad," set the record straight earlier this morning regarding reports he was presented the role of Lex Luthor in the brand new, untitled "Batman vs. Superman" film.

Cranston revealed today on "The Howard Stern Show" on SiriusXM satellite radio that the job would have been a terrific career move, but then again the role was never was offered to him.

"In the minds of fans, it's true," said Cranston to Stern. "In the minds of the hierarchy of Warner Brothers, it's not true."

The film is directed by Zack Snyder, he is projected to start filming in Metro Detroit in almost a month or so.

Snyder confirmed with the Los Angeles Times yesterday that Jesse Eisenberg will play the role of Luthor in the movie.

Cranston also revealed in his interview with Stern that he never was ever considered for the role of Superman's greatest villain to his knowledge.

"I was not involved in any of that whatsoever," said Cranston to Stern on "The Howard Stern Show".

Cranston's reply to Stern's remark that playing Luthor would have been a wonderful role for him: "Oh, oh, I would have welcomed it."

Cranston's answer when Stern's co-star Robin Quivers asked if the job would have been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him: "That would've been a 20; I think so!"

In addition to Eisenberg, members of the all-star cast for the "Batman vs. Superman" movie contains Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth and Diane Lane (Martha Kent).

The "Batman vs. Superman" movie will appear in theaters on May 6, 2016.
