'Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Injustice' Release Date Moved Up

A recent development has ended the release date stand-off between Warner Bros' 'Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Injustice' and Marvel Studios' 'Captain America 3'.

Both films were originally set for May 6, 2016 launch dates, and now Warner Bros' has bumped up their upcoming blockbuster to March 25, 2016. Presumably, WB swapped the date in order to avoid box office competition with the Marvel superhero franchise.

Beyond that, producers for the latest Batman flick have not officially disclosed its storyline, but recent reports claim that Batman will only be rivaled by Superman in the first part of the movie. After that, the Caped Crusader will team up with the Man of Steel to face-off against a greater evil in the latter part of the film.

'Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice' is the first Batman film sans Christian Bale in ten years. 'Daredevil' star Ben Affleck has recently taken over the role of the famous wealthy bachelor, Bruce Wayne, and his alter-ego, Batman.

The upcoming movie also features Henry Cavill as Superman and his alter-ego, Clark Kent, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince and Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Superman's love interest, Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Bruce Wayne's butler.

Batman vs. Superman is produced by Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder, written by David Goyer and directed by Zack Snyder for Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics.
