'Batman V Superman' News: Ben Affleck Says Batman Character Is Like Hamlet
Warner Bros. DC plans to come out full force in San Diego's upcoming Comic-Con, namely with a bunch more goodies pertaining to next year's 'Batman V Superman' movie.
Six official photos were recently released thanks to EW, and the cast of the movie plans to take the cover of next month's issue.
'Batman V Superman' will definitely be something fans haven't yet seen before, and while we've only seen a trailer so far, what was shown has already ignited the fires of anticipation.
Ben Affleck was also available for a few comments on his character. He addressed the reoccurring recasting of Batman by relating him to Hamlet:
"We accept that he's played by actors with different interpretations. He's at the end of his run and maybe the end of his life. There's this sort of world-weariness to it."
It's at least evident the movie will be attempting a slightly different take on the character.
He also defends his lackluster superhero performance a lot earlier in his career.
"Daredevil didn't work, at all. If I wanted to go viral I would be less polite," says the actor. "That was before people realized you could make these movies and make them well. There was a cynical sense of 'Put a red leather outfit on a guy, have him run around, hunt some bad guys, and cash the check.'"
Here's the 'Batman V Superman' plot synopsis:
"Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before."
