'Batman v Superman' Movie Release Date, Latest News: Affleck Promises Better Performance than 'Daredevil'
These days, Ben Affleck seems to be everywhere, and following the triumphant reception of his last movie, 'Gone Girl', the actor-director is gearing up to complete another project as the rich vigilante in 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice'.
According to Cinema Rant, while many people object to his role as Batman, Affleck reassured them that this portrayal would be better than his last attempt to play a superhero.
That's one reason why fans of the Caped Crusader are protesting his role, because 'Daredevil' (2003) failed so miserably. Actually, Affleck said that he regretted playing the superhero in the poorly-executed film.
In a recent interview with NPR, Affleck said, "Indeed I have regrets about 'Daredevil.' I have regrets about all the movies that I don't think were executed properly. ... Look, if I thought we were remaking 'Daredevil,' I'd be out there picketing myself ... and that goes for other movies as well that I haven't been happy with. You know, I'm hard on myself and I have exacting standards and I want to do excellent work and I don't always succeed, but I think you have to start out with that drive."
Meanwhile, he had only praise for the new film's writer and director. Affleck also admitted that he felt more confident about the production.
He said, "('Batman v Superman') was written by Chris Terrio, who wrote 'Argo', who's not a comic guy. And it's directed by Zach Snyder, who's an incredibly magical sort of visual stylist who's steeped in the comic world. And you have this sandwich of talents. I felt very confident about it. ... I thought it would be nice to make one of these movies really, really good."
According to Flickering Myth, 'Batman v Superman' will be a star-studded film with the likes of big stars cast alongside Affleck.
For team "Batman," Gal Gadot will play the role of Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher will appear as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg cast as Lex Luthor, and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth.
On the other hand, the Superman camp has Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.
Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, and Scoot McNairy will also feature in the film, but their roles have yet to be revealed.
'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is scheduled for release on March 25, 2016.
