'Batman: Arkham Knight' Release Date News: Gameplay Talked About By Marketing Manager Guy Perkins, Also New Nemesis, Batmobile

Recently, Rocksteady marketing manager Guy Perkins talked about 'Batman: Arkham Knight' with regards to its new gameplay and its new nemesis at the EGX convention in London.

Guy Perkins said, "I think we've always taken pride in the stories we tell," he explained. "We try to create that very cinematic storytelling experience through the game."

Perkins said that the game caters to fans and newcomers alike. The developers aimed for the narrative to be "very defined" and to have a "rich story."

The marketing manager explained that the Joker's death in 'Batman: Arkham City' had created a hole in the storyline. He said that it also meant an old favorite could return.

Arkham Knight is a completely new character that was created especially for the game by Rocksteady, DC Comic's Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and DC co-publisher and comic artist Jim Lee.

The new character is an overpowered, weapon-wielding villain wearing full-body armor. Many speculate that Arkham Knight is the product or a persona of a pre-existing Batman rival that may potentially be Batman's greatest foe.

Some of the potential identities includes Thomas Wayne, Talia Al Ghul, Hush, Jason Todd, Azrael, Amadeus Arkham and even the Joker.

"We gave them Gotham City, we gave them Batman at the height of his powers and we gave them the Batmobile," Perkins said.

This time around, 'Batman: Arkham Knight' lets its players simulate driving the Batmobile, as the previous 'Arkham' games only allowed the use of Batman's utility-belt gadgets and his glider cape to get around Gotham City.

'Batman: Arkham Knight' is the latest action-adventure video game to be released by Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, under the 'Batman' franchise. It will be available on June 2, 2015 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles as well as Windows PC.
