Batman: Arkham Knight's release date was revealed in a GameStop promotional picture as October 14 2014.

According to Gamespot, Arkham City and Arkham Origins were also released in October, so the pattern could be the same. Game developer Rocksteady will be returning to create the game after taking a break on Origins. Rocksteady made the first two games, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

It was revealed today Arkham Knight will not feature multiplayer. "This is a single-player game. There is no multiplayer Right at the start this was our vision. It's going to take all of our effort for all of this time. We don't have the time to do multiplayer," said Rocksteady's game director Sefton Hill to Game Informer. The game "focus on making the best single-player experience we can. We don't feel that it needs a multiplayer element. Warner Bros. backed that up right at the start."

Set one year after the events from Arkham City, Arkham Knight takes place in a more heavily populated part of Gotham City, which is nearly five times the size of Arkham City. New generation hardware allows Rocksteady to add more to its world, including riots of 50 or more on-screen characters.

"At any given time, there are between three to five times the number of thugs active in Gotham City than there were in Arkham City," said Tim Hanagan, lead AI and combat programmer, to Game Informer.

The new addition of the Batmobile is another noteworthy feature for Arkham Knight. The vehicle will be drivable for the first time ever in the series. In addition, Batman's most signature vehicle can shoot immobilizing missiles that can be fired at any time.

The game was revealed to be in development for the Xbox One, PS4, and Windows PC.
