Batman Arkham Knight Gameplay News: PS4, Xbox One Footage Emerges of Batmobile (Trailer Video)
Rocksteady Studios recently unveiled a new gameplay video titled "Evening the Odds," featuring Batman finally driving the Batmobile in the final installment of the "Batman Arkham" trilogy, due out later this year.
In the video, the footage also showed Batman being attacked by the newly created Arkham Knight villain, who is seen stepping on Batman's body before pulling the gun's trigger on the Caped Crusader.
In addition to the Arkham Knight, Batman will also battle other super villains from the DC Comics franchise's legendary rogue's gallery: Scarecrow, Penguin, Two-Face and The Joker's girlfriend Harley Quinn to name a few in the upcoming game. Quinn is also available in the new game as a playable character via pre-order.
The newest Batman game is expected to be released only on the PC and the next gen consoles, since the "Batman Arkham Knight" will not be released on the Xbox 360 or the PS3.
"That was one of the key factors in designing Gotham City. It needed to be a playground that fulfills that fantasy of driving that iconic vehicle," said Dax Ginn, Brand Marketing Producer for Rocksteady Studios, to Polygon at the GDC event in March. "(After Arkham City,) we were thinking about, 'Where do we go next? How do we fulfill that ultimate Batman power fantasy?' For us, the Batmobile was the final piece of the puzzle. We've been wanting to do it for a long time, but really needed next-gen horsepower to pull that off."
According to a previous IGN report, the game will takes place one year following the events of the Arkham City game.
"This is the natural end for the story. We really want to go out in style," said Game director Sefton Hill, according to IGN.
Batman: Arkham Knight will be available for PC, Microsoft Xbox One, and the Sony Playstation 4 on October 14.
