‘Bates Motel’ Season 2 Spoilers, Recap: Norman Bates 'Black Out' Reveals Truth on Miss Watson Death [VIDEO]
Season 2 of the popular psycho-thriller series Bates Motel is full of violence, kidnapping, murder, and drug dealing. Fans are expecting a mind-blowing season finale to match the whirlwind turn of events week after week.
In Episode 10 The Immutable Truth, Norman Bates is confronted with tragic events in the past. If Norma Bates cannot cover it up from his son, will he turn into a mad man?
To spice up everything, Norman is suffering from dissociative identity disorder where his other personality would do violent things that his main self is not consciously aware of.
Executive Producer Kerry Ehrin explains, "It's very much activated by stress. It comes out of children who are repeatedly traumatized, either sexually traumatized or live in a very violent environment."
Norman had to bear with an alcoholic father who violated him and his mother. His father is eventually killed.
In Episode 9 The Box, Norman is again confronted with a similar scenario. Kidnapped by Nick Ford, he was locked in a box. The trauma sinks in, and Norman remembers big chunks of memories from his father's death including that of Miss Watson's.
In the finale, Norman faces his mother and tells her that everything seems to make sense already. Norma would not want that as any mother would do to avoid constant torment to their child. But every good thing comes to an end - will Norman succumb to his other personality, or will he continue to fight the urge every time?
