Barbara Walters Retiring From The View - Reunites With Co-Hosts Past and Present Before Emotional Exit
Before Barbara Walters retires from "The View" on May 16, she will reunite with her co-stars past and present for the first time ever on Thursday's episode.
Thursday's episode will begin at 11 a.m. ET and can be viewed online through live stream via the link provided below.
In the unprecedented event, all of Walters' co-hosts (10 in total) from the talk show's 17-year-history will reunite with the 84-year-old journalist who created and starred in the series since 1997.
"The View" talk show welcomes ex-hosts Joy Behar, Star Jones, Debbie Matenopoulos, Lisa Ling, Ex-Survivor contestant Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Meredith Vieira and Rosie O'Donnell, when the ladies return to celebrate the impact the former "20/20" lead anchor had on their lives and their careers.
"Barbara Walters' status as a trailblazer, a legend and an icon are undeniable," said ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee in a statement.
In addition, current co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd and newest Jenny McCarthy will also be there to express their viewpoints regarding Walter's irreplaceable legacy on the morning show one day before the Boston native exits the show as its lead moderator.
"It's not as if I'm walking into the sunset," said Walters to Delaware Online "I'm NOT going to be doing a five-day-a-week show, and I'm NOT going after every big 'get.'"
Walters will still remain as the Executive Producer of the long running ABC talk show as the show will begin its search for her replacement after the emotional episode.
"In this business, there are legends, there are icons, and then there is Barbara Walters," said Walt Disney Company's Chairman and Chief Executive Robert A. Iger in a press release. "It's impossible to fully convey her impact and influence on television. She broke barriers, defied convention, made history, and set the standard for journalistic excellence for more than 50 years. It's hard to imagine television without her."
"The View" airs Weekdays at 11/10c on the ABC network. "The View" can also be watched online through live stream by clicking here.
