Porn and sex addiction is often something often associated with men, but what about the women who suffer in secrecy as well? Bad Christian interviewed a couple of women to put together their newest book, "The M-Word: Real Stories from Women about Masturbation, Sex Addiction, and Porn."
"This book is a collection of stories from real women who have real struggles with sex addiction, masturbation and pornography. This topic is rarely addressed from a female Christian point of view and we are very thankful to be able to share it," they wrote on Bad Christian. "As we always strive to do, we want this material to be available for free or 'pay what you want'. If you like the content that we make, please consider contributing in order that we can continue to make more and to keep it free."
The book can be downloaded here as an e-book, and follows up their first release "Bad Christian: Great Savior."
"The idea came about when many women responded to an article we wrote about men dealing with lust and sex addiction. Our women readers lovingly reminded us that porn, masturbation and sex addiction aren't only men problems and encouraged us to include that perspective in our discussions on this issue," they wrote in a press release.
They continued, "The realness, rawness and openness shared by these brave women will likely leave many readers with open mouths, watery eyes, and a profound appreciation of human openness and honesty."
The book's forward features a passage written by XXX Church Pastor Craig Gross, who runs a ministry to help and reach pornstars for Christ.
In a special podcast episode of the show, BCP had one of the people who shared their on. A woman name Teresa shared her story of sexual abuse and addiction. Her life spiraled out of control after being raped, and her family and church blamed her for it. Listen to the full interview here.
