'Bad Boys 3' News: Officially Confirmed as Jerry Bruckhiemer Offers Insight on Production
Good news for all the 'Bad Boys' fans out there, as Martin Lawrence recently confirmed over social media that a third installment to the film franchise is in the works. He also made mention of the upcoming new movie when he appeared on 'Conan'.
On July 18, Lawrence who was probably reminiscing about his 'Bad Boys' days posted an anniversary message on Facebook saying, "11 years ago today, "Bad Boys II" was released in theaters. Feelin' it'' about time for number 3... what do you think Will Smith?" he wrote.
Even though Will Smith has not responded to Martin Lawrence's message, the movie is reportedly in its early stages of production. Also, during his recent appearance on 'Conan', Lawrence said "I just talked to [producer] Jerry Bruckheimer yesterday and he said it's real, they're working on the script, they're getting close, and it all looks good," the 49-year-old actor revealed.
Even though it's been more than a decade since fans got the see the movie up on the big screen, nevertheless they are excited about upcoming installment. Previously, Bruckheimer expressed the difficulties in making a third 'Bad Boys' film.
"It's so funny because we'll get Sony real excited to make the movie, and then Will is off doing two movies. And then, Will will come back and be real excited about it, and Sony will say, 'Well, maybe it's not the time for this.' And then, Ride Along came out and was a big hit, and now they're all excited to make the movie, but Will is off doing something else. It's just trying to get everybody together to make it," Bruckheimer told Collider.
"But, we're working on the script. We have a lot of faith and hope that we'll do it," the producer concluded.
As it stands, there is no release date for the upcoming third addition to the 'Bad Boys' film franchise.
