Backstreet Boys Talk New Album 'In A World Like This', BSB Cruise, Pick One Direction vs The Wanted (VIDEO)
Backstreet Boys will be releasing their new album In A World Like This on July 30th and their single, "In A World LIke This" is out now.
The most popular boy band ever (unless you speak to N'Sync fans), now ranging from mid 30's to early 40's, has been around for 20 years now and seem stronger than ever.
Kevin Richardson stepped away from the band in 2007 saying, "I just decided I wanted to step away and focus on some desires and interests that I wanted to pursue away from music, and also wanted to start a family. I wasn't as excited, hungry, and inspired as I should be, so I felt like it wasn't fair to the guys. Why I came back is I got that desire again, I felt inspired to create, and I felt I had something to give and say as a writer and artist with 20 years coming up.
Now with Kevin back, the guys have their full original line up and their fans could not be more excited.
The guys say that they wanted to make a personal record with In A World Like This. They wanted to reflect where they were at in their lives today with wives and children and their different views as opposed to 15 years ago.
The Backstreet Boys cruises have been huge successes and really been a way to connect with fans in a more personal way.
The Backstreet Boys even make a cameo in the new movie This is the End, which is predicted to be one of the best comedies of the year.
The guys talk about the new emergence of boy bands with One Direction and The Wanted specifically. Kevin says, "We see ourselves in them. We've been there. We're like, "Oh, wow." Just seeing how it's all happening, seeing what they're going through, and seeing how the media responds. It's very familiar."
When asked which they prefer, they said they are friend with both and would stay neutral.
