Gary Chapman to Co-Host Today's Edition of SIRIUS XM’s Blue Collar Radio
(NASHVILLE, Tennessee) -- Award-winning singer-songwriter and radio and television personality Gary Chapman will co-host SIRIUS XM's Blue Collar Radio today, November 12, at 5:00 p.m. EST. Blue Collar Radio, the official radio home of the Blue Collar Comedy brand, is available nationwide on SIRIUS and XM at channel 97.
"My buddy, Reno Collier, had me on a couple of weeks ago and we had a blast," says Chapman. "I'm guessing Leanne (Morgan, the regular co-host) was getting her hair did. I expect we'll giggle profusely."
Chapman released The Truth, his first new studio album in a decade, earlier this month via Merf Music Group with distribution partners Elevate Entertainment and Syntax Distribution. The 16-track project features guest appearances by Alison Krauss, John Rich, Tanya Tucker and Rebecca Lynn Howard along with Chapman's wife, Cassie, and his daughter, Sarah.
With a media blitz in full swing, Chapman has already made appearances on Nashville's famed WSM Radio, as well as national radio outlets such as the Mike Huckabee Show, Bill Martinez Live and the Drew Marshall Show.
The album is already earning universal praise from media outlets in the Country and Christian music genres. "After a ten year absence Chapman shows no rust and instead raises the bar with some of the most compelling and honest songwriting out there today..." wrote Christian website VerticalHope.com, while Chuck Dauphin atMusicNewsNashville.com noted that "Chapman returns to the musical fold with an album that is one of the best the Christian market has seen in quite some time." Christian mega-site NewReleaseTuesday.com said, "Christian music needs more albums like this, songs that look beyond the church pews to offer shelter to people on the margins."
For well over three decades, Chapman has seamlessly blurred the lines of contemporary Christian pop, country and southern gospel, racking up an impressive list of Dove Awards, GRAMMY nominations and writing credits for legendary artists such as Kenny Rogers, Alabama and Wynonna. Chapman is also widely remembered as the host of TNN's popular Prime Time Country television series and the Sam's Place concert series and radio program.
