Avengers 3 Movie Spoilers, Cast News: Anthony Mackie to Replace Chris Evans as Captain America?

As Avengers 2: Age of Ultron has yet to hit the big screen, fans of the genre are already concerned with what is set to happen in "Avengers 3." Rumors have been circulating that Chris Evans may step down as Captain America and Anthony Mackie will take it from there.

Mackie plays Sam Wilson was Captain Steve Rogers' side kick in the recent Captain America: the Winter Soldier. The role was not expected to be a hit, but the high-flying, wise-cracking Falcon is easily a fan favorite.

Marvel has not officially made mention about plans for Captain America's character, but there are already reports claiming that Evans will be replaced. The 35-year-old actor, Mackie has been in various Hollywood movies. Although never a leading man, he's already been in various big budget films from 8 Mile, to The Manchurian Candidate, to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter as well as Oscar Winner for Best Picture Million Dollar Baby, and The Hurt Locker.

Mackie clearly does not lack in experience, but could his experiences but may not have the gall to replace Evans as Captain America. The possibility is very slim since Captain America's character is very resistant to change. Marvel have also been putting in effort to make their on-screen actors look like the characters in the comics.

So far, Mackie has no plans in taking the Captain America role since he is happy just impersonating the Falcon. In his interview for Captain America: the Winter Soldier, the actor expresses how honored he feels to play the Falcon, "It's great, man. I was really excited because of the history of the Falcon, how much work Marvel has put into the Falcon over the years to get him right - he's kind of an iconic figure, not only in the African-American community, but in the Marvel Universe as a whole. So when I got the call and was offered the role, it was very exciting. It was kind of like a notch in my belt as far as career achievements." Mackie said.
