'Avengers 2 Age of Ultron' Movie Plot, Cast News: Joss Whedon Reveals The Difference Between DC and Marvel Upcoming Films (VIDEO)

In a new interview, 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' director Joss Whedon recently revealed his thoughts regarding the differences between his Marvel films and the rival DC Comics movies.

"I think that both studios [Marvel and Warner/DC] have kind of different agendas, different ways of approaching the superhero genre, and the ethos of the thing, and the esthetic," said Whedon to Nerd HQ.

"They go very dark and serious and sometimes it works amazingly, and Marvel tends to be a little lighter. Both have movies that I adore, and both have movies that I'm like...including bits of my own. I would not want them to do what Marvel does. I like what they do when they get it right."

In addition, the 50-year-old New York native also mentioned both Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker in 'The Dark Knight' film and the 'Batman Begins' movie were groundbreaking moments for DC Comics and WB Pictures.

The 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel' creator also talked the possibility of moviegoers potentially seeing a crossover movie between 'The Avengers' and the 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' in the near future.

"Kevin [Feige] has a big plan and every now and then, he'll tell me part of it if he thinks it's going to affect what I'm doing or if he thinks what I'm doing is going to affect his", said Whedon.

"But as much as possible, I try to live in my own bubble. Guardians is very much its own thing. They're not the Guardians of this galaxy; it's a different one. So, I can sort of keep them at arm's length, long enough to do my thing and then I'm sure everything is going to get mixed together because it's Marvel."

In a previous interview, Whedon revealed which classic film sequel he drew inspiration from when he created the second film starring 'The Avengers'.

"The model I'm always trying to build from is 'The Godfather: Part II,' where a ton has happened in between and it's a very different movie, but you don't need any information... You're in the vernacular of the first movie and you're ready to just pick up in this new place," said Whedon to Total Film.

Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Incredible Hulk), James Spader (Ultron), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) are among the numerous actors set to appear in the movie when the blockbuster series returns on May 1, 2015.
