'Avengers 2 Age of Ultron' Cast News: Robert Downey Jr. Clarifies 'Iron Man 4' Rumors
In latest 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' news, Robert Downey Jr. recently talked about the fate of his beloved Iron Man character after the release of his upcoming Marvel film.
"There's no plans for an Iron Man 4. There's no script for Iron Man 4, but they do have a plan and I think they're going to announce it...they've very secretive about it," said Downey to David Letterman on the 'Late Night with David Letterman' show in a discussion.
However, the 49-year-old New York City native hinted that he will appear in other Marvel films after 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' appears in theaters next year.
"There'll be other stuff," said Downey, "Just between us - no. But I'm going to do other stuff with Marvel.... There's going to be plenty of fun stuff to happen."
Speculation regarding the possible 'Iron Man 4' was invited when comedienne Ellen DeGeneres asked the actor if they will be another film starring Tony Stark's alter ego.
"Yes," said Downey to DeGeneres on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' on Tuesday.
Downey also revealed that he is open to reprise his role as Iron Man on an upcoming episode of ABC's action adventure drama series titled 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'
"Nothing is impossible," wrote Downey on a recent Reddit AMA live chat regarding the possible cameo role in the superhero series, "But there might be a fair amount of red tape involved in something like that."
Downey will return as Iron Man to lead the all-star roster against Ultron. Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Chris Evans (Captain America), and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) are among the numerous actors set to reprise their role when 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' returns to the big screen on May 1, 2015.
