Audio Adrenaline's Kevin Max Steps Down as Frontman; Band Introduces Josh Engler as Vocalist and Announce New Album for 2015
Audio Adrenaline has just announced that after two years and over 150 shows their frontman Kevin Max will be stepping down as the group's vocalist and in his stead will be Josh Engler, formerly of Abandon.
"It has been an honor and a great privilege to be a part of the work Audio Adrenaline has done these last two years," Max said in a press release. "Mark Stuart and Will McGinniss have always been close friends of mine, and this chapter of our lives in service together has been beautiful. I look forward to continually being involved in the Hands and Feet Project and also as a creative ally in anything Audio Adrenaline does in the future."
The band, bassist Will McGinniss, drummer Jared Byers, and guitarist Dwayne Larring along with original lead singer who is still involved, Mark Stuart, came to a mutual decision with Max.
Max, also formerly of mega successful Christian group DC Talk, will move on to pursue his more experimental and creative solo career and spoken word.
According to Audio A's announcement, the band will continue to create music with their "signature energetic rock sound." They will also be partnering up with Acquire the Fire to work on the worship aspect of the events. The Hands and Feet Project will remain unchanged and continue to minister to orphans in Haiti, except now with the backing of Ron Luce and Acquire the Fire.
New singer Engler was with Abandon from 2004-2012. He most recently was the worship pastor at Bethel Church.
"I love Kevin and it has been nothing but an honor and a joy to get to journey life with him these last two years. During every show I would look across the stage and smile and think 'God, you are a Creative and Redemptive God.' AudioA and the Hands and Feet Project will be forever grateful to Kevin. I pray that God will continue to use Kevin in a powerful way through music. He is and always will be a dear brother to us all," said McGinniss, who co-founded the band in the late 80s.
Audio A is currently in the studio recording a followup to Kings & Queens, their 2012 release with Max.
