Attack on Titan Season 2 Release Date: July 2015 Date False, Work Not Even Started on New Season Yet

It was a false alarm for Attack on Titan fans recently when a report cited a July 26, 2015 release date for Attack on Titan Season 2. However, that report and that date appears to have been a prank, with various media outlets knocking down the date as anything other than speculation or fake news.

The rumor initially came from the Otako House, a Singapore-based online shop selling cosplay costumes and other similar goods and related services.

The news rampantly spread on social media sites but iDigitalTimes, a technology news outfit in New York, clarified that Wit Studios has not even started on Season 2 yet, and so there is no way that a firm date could have been set that fans could rely on.

"The truth is, there's a good reason why Wit Studios isn't working on the 'Attack on Titan' season 2 premiere just yet," iDigitalTimes reported.

The analysis continued: "Even after just one series, the show has covered a pretty substantial portion of the manga - a little more than half of it, in fact.  The key words there are 'a little more.'  It stands to reason that the second series will cover just about as much ground as the first series.  And that means, if it came out right now, the anime would pass the material in the books."

Attack on Titan tackles the story of Eren Jaeger, a member of an elite group of soldiers fighting for the preservation of Titans.

The anime series became an instant hit due to its unique storyline as well as competitive graphics and animation.

The other release date being touted for Attack on Titan Season 2 claims a August 15, 2015 date. However, much can happen between now and then.
