Attack on Titan Season 2 Release Date: 2 Movies to Accompany
The anticipated season 2 of the highly popular anime Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) is expected this July 26, 2014.
Attack on Titan, or as its called in Japanese Shingeki no Kyojin, is originally a manga by artist Hajime Isayama. The anime adaptation first aired in Japan on April 7, 2013. Season 1 of the anime ran until September 28, 2013 with fans anticipating a second season since then.
The anime was widely received and rapidly gained fans worldwide.
Currently, the title is to receive two live-action films, an OVA (original video animation), as well as a number of games. The two live-action films is said to accompany the release of the second season this July.
The first movie will be called "Attack on Titan Part I: Crimson Bow and Arrow" and will see a winter release this 2014. The second one will be called "Attack on Titan Part 2: Wings of Freedom" and will be released sometime next year, according to Anime News Network.
The two films will essentially be a recap of the whole of season 1 with a 5.1ch remaster of the dubs of the series' cast voices.
The first movie will be covering the first 13 episodes of the anime while the second movie will be covering the last 12 episodes.
Isayama's manga has already sold 36 million copies since its release in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2009. During the first season's run, Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed it through their website as it aired in Japan.
