While fans have been closely following all information regarding the upcoming Season 2 of their favorite Japanese anime series, 'Attack on Titan' (titled 'Shingeki no Kyojin' in Japanese) on the Internet, so far there is no official news about the premiere date of the manga series.
It has been learned that the production of 'Attack on Titan' Season 2 will not begin until there is sufficient material from the hit manga series to enable the producers to make another successful season.
According to reports, production will begin only when Volume 15 of the manga has been released, which will be sometime in December this year.
However, there are rumors on the Internet that production of 'Attack on Titan' Season 2 has already begun.
For the uninitiated, the 'Attack on Titan' anime series is based on a manga series having the same name and is created by Hajime Isayama. Like in the case of nearly all manga based anime series, the content of 'Attack on Titan' is very much dependent on the progress of the manga. Therefore, Season 2 of 'Attack on Titan' too is dependent on the release of Volume 15.
Even as fans will have to be patient for the release of 'Attack on Titan' Season 2 release, two theatrical compilation films of the manga are scheduled to be released together with Volumes 15 and 16 of Hajime Isayama's popular manga series.
The first film entitled 'Attack on Titan: Crimson Bow and Arrow' is slated for release on Dec. 9 this year. This theatrical compilation film will comprise of the first 13 episodes of the 'Attack on Titan' Season one.
The second film is entitled 'Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom' and it is scheduled to be released in April 2015. This film will comprise of the final 12 episodes of the first anime season.
In addition, a spin-off of 'Attack on Titan' is also slated for release sometime prior to the release of the anime's second season and will be titled 'Attack on Titan: No Regrets, Birth of Levi'. The story of the spin-off will revolve around the character Levi Ackerman and his backstory comes in contact with Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman in the Recon Corps.
