Asus ZenWatch 2 Specs & Features: New Smartwatch to Come in Two Sizes and Three Color Options
Recently, the Taiwanese tech giant Asus unveiled the second-gen Asus ZenWatch, dubbed as the Asus ZenWatch 2, at an event in the company's home country, giving the tech enthusiasts a glimpse of what the new wearable device would be like.
The original Asus ZenWatch was announced at the 2014 IFA even in Berlin, Germany, in September last year and the device hit the stores in November. The Verge commended the design of the Asus ZenWatch as well as its bright displace screen.
Citing recent reports, Christian Today states that the upcoming ZenWatch 2 is expected to come in stainless steel and offer the potential two different sizes and three different colors to choose from. According to a report in Cross Map, the new smartwatch will be available in silver, gunmetal grey and rose gold colors.
It is expected that taking a cue from the Cupertino-based tech titan Apple Inc., Asus will also offer the potential customers a 45 x 37 mm model alongside a 49 x 41 mm model. According Wearable, the 45 x 37 mm model will sport an 18 mm strap, while the 49 x 41 mm model will come with a 22 mm strap.
Meanwhile, Ecumenical reported that the strap for the 49 x 41 mm Asus ZenWatch 2 model will be replaceable. Users can use another strap available in the market. According to some other reports, straps of both the Asus ZenWatch 2 models will come with more color options and different materials. Apart from the sizes and colors, it is expected that the new wearable device from the Taiwanese tech firm will come with improved features compared to its predecessor - the Asus ZenWatch.
As far as the design of the new ZenWatch 2 is concerned, it will be similar to the original ZenWatch, but will have a button located on its side. It is expected that the new smartwatch will sport an AMOLED display screen, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It will be powered by a Qualcomm processor. One report claimed that the new device will allow users to connect the ZenWatch 2 with the Wellness app on Android-based smartphones.
As of now, Asus has not announced the official release date of the ZenWatch 2, but it is expected to be launched sometime later this year.
