'Assassin’s Creed 5 Unity' Releases Official Poster, Trailer, Short Film: Game Maker Ubisoft Goes All Out at Comic-Con 2014

The much-awaited game, 'Assassin's Creed: Unity', goes all out in its promotion as the title gets a poster, trailer, and an animated short film.

The trailer, which was released earlier this month, shows the protagonist Arno Dorian as he helps out with the French Resistance effort.

Meanwhile, musician and horror aficionado Rob Zombie has teamed up with video game producer Ubisoft to produce an animated short tied to the game. The short is illustrated by 'The Walking Dead' co-creator Tony Moore and is meant to bring to life the chaotic and brutal events behind the French Revolution, the theme of 'Assassin's Creed: Unity'.

Game developer Ubisoft didn't stop there, instead, they decided to push the envelope further with its promotions as it set up an elaborate parkour obstacle course at Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend. The massive course is meant to bring to life the French Revolution setting of the game.

The course was set up on the Martin Luther King Jr. Promenade, just across the street from the convention. Michael "Frosti" Zernow served as "chief parkour officer" and helped participants navigate their way through the obstacles. Ubisoft also teamed up with film maker Devin Graham for a live action parkour-filled video that replicates stunts from the games through the streets of Paris.

'Assassin's Creed' has sold more than 76 million units since the first game debuted in 2007, making it one of the most successful game franchises around. It also has a film in the works at 20th Century Fox and New Regency, with Michael Fassbender rumored to star in the movie.

'Assassin's Creed: Unity' is slated for release on Oct. 20 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
