Assassin's Creed 5 Rumors, Latest News: New Lead Character Hinted in Leaked Photo; Weapon Points to 1800s England (PHOTO)
Assassin's Creed 5's hero has seemingly been revealed in a leaked image on Thursday morning, but it is hard to tell whether it could be the first look or not.

"There is a pretty big image of a new character. And although the photo is not of very good quality, nevertheless a revolver-a weapon that appeared in the late 1830s-can be seen in the right hand of the protagonist. Is it a coincidence? We don't think so, but so far we can only speculate, basing on a variety of rumors, but very soon, as it seems to us, the developer will remove the veil of secrecy and will officially announce Assassin's Creed 5 game," said GameSpace, reported The Epoch Times.
The image is allegedly from the Ubisoft Montreal office.
Early rumors have indicated the game is taking place in London during the Industrial Revolution, and not in feudal Japan like previously thought.
Jade Raymond, Assassin's Creed producer and Ubisoft Toronto studio head, made the announcement in an interview with AdWeek.
"When we're building a franchise, we're thinking of a whole universe and how we're developing a meta-story that could live on for many years in games and TV," Raymond said in the interview. "If the story has nowhere to go, then you end up with the video game equivalent of The Matrix 2 or something where it's never going to be quite as genius."
So far the franchise has seen settings in the pirate plagued Caribbean, the American Revolution, the Renaissance, and the Crusades era Middle East.
The rumors began in 2011 after a poll taken by Ubisoft asked gamers where they would like to see the series go next. Japan was one of the options listed, and it was one of the more popular picks by fans. However, according to Polygon, the development team feels that is one of the worst locations for the game to take place.
