Arsenal Rumors, News: Mesut Ozil Denies Donating Money To Gaza
Germany's football star Mesut Ozil was recently rumored to have donated money to the children of Gaza as the conflict in the area continues; however, the 25 year-old footballer strongly denies the rumor, but where did he spend his bonus after winning this year's World Cup?
The professional football star recently soared into fame, much like the rest of his teammates on Germany's side this year at the FIFA 2014 World Cup. Now that the former Arsenal star was able to generate plenty of funds following his team's victory against Argentina, sources say he's enjoying his free time on vacation.
After applying that much effort and dedication to his team and the tournament, he will most likely spend the next few weeks resting.
The bonus that Ozil received after winning the World Cup is rumored to have been donated to the children of Gaza during the current conflict.
However, a representative of the footballer denies this and said Ozil is supporting a different charity. On a similar note, Cristiano Ronaldo was previously reported to have donated his golden boots to the victims of Gaza.
To clarify the discrepancy, Ozil's in actuality donated some money to 11 sick children in Brazil, and paid for their surgeries. The athlete even cleared the issue on his Facebook account, and further added that he was not yet finished donating. Mesut Ozil, is looking to double the amount given to the ill children of Brazil.
