‘Arrow’ Season 3 Spoilers, Cast News: Character Returns as New Villain
The CW's hit series, 'Arrow', will be returning for its third season in a few days, and the excitement for the premiere just keeps building up, especially since spoilers about the upcoming installment keep on coming.
Fans can expect the premiere episode to feature returning characters and a new villain.
In the show's third season, it was reported that the viewers will witness a comeback of several characters. Among the characters speculated to be returning are Sara Lance, Thea Queen and Deathstroke.
Marc Guggenheim, the show's executive producer, confirmed the return of Sara.
"We've made a deal for three episodes but at current count, we're going to have her in for five, at least. Obviously with all of our recurring cast members, we always have to work around their schedules but we love Caity. We have really cool plans for her," Guggenheim said at the Comic Con International in San Diego.
Similar to Sara, it was revealed that Deathstroke or Slade Wilson will also have a part once again in the show's storyline.
"We've got an awesome story for Slade Wilson. Obviously we didn't kill him off at the end of Season Two and it's just a matter of syncing up our schedule and his schedule and our creative timeline with his schedule, so we'd love to have him back on the show," said the executive producer.
Thea is also said to be returning, since the executive producer revealed that the viewers will be able to see a fiercer side of the character in the upcoming episodes.
"This year obviously Thea's going to be going through some changes because of her association with Malcolm Merlyn and that I think will bring her into more of the a**-kicking side of the spectrum," revealed Guggenheim.
The season premiere episode entitled "The Calm," is said to be introducing a new villain, just when Oliver thought everything was finally all right.
In the said episode, Oliver will be a little relaxed, since the crime rate in Startling City will be very low. The main character will be able to have some time for his personal life, until Vertigo, the new villain, introduces himself.
Meanwhile, the upcoming season will also show Oliver trying to get his company Queen Consolidated back from Isabel Rochev.
The premiere episode of 'Arrow' Season 3 airs on Oct. 8 on The CW.
