'Arrow' Season 3 Release Date, Spoilers: Brandon Routh ‘Superman’ Is Atom?

CW's own adaption of DC Nation, Arrow, will be back for its third season on October 8 with a couple of new characters set to appear on the show.

Superman Returns actor Brandon Routh has been recruited to play Ray Palmer also known as The Atom.

TVLine's exclusive first feature of Arrow Season 3's casting included four new characters such as Ollie's caretaker, his wife, a villain, and Oliver's recurring rival. Previous rumors had Routh mistakenly casted as Ted Korn also known as Blue Beetle.

Ray Palmer's character debuted in Showcase #34 (1961) where he served as a physics professor in an Ivy League university. During his tenure, he found a tiny dwarf star that he subjected into an experiment and later on used as a tool for his shrinking manipulation.

In other news, filmmaker Kevin Smith and comic artist Neal Adams revealed that Ra's Al Ghul will be making an appearance on several episodes next season together with other Batman villains:

"I think they could do a better Ra's al Gul. I have a feeling they are heading for that on the Arrow TV show. Something's going on there, and if it's who I think it is, it's going to be pretty exciting," Adams said during the Phoenix Comic Con last June.
