Ariana Grande ‘Sam & Cat’ Canceled: McCurdy's Uncomfortable Situation? Low Salary?

The Nickelodeon sitcom 'Sam & Cat' which stars Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy has been cancelled. This has been confirmed through Grande's Twitter post on July 13. Although there are no official reasons as to why the show was cancelled, speculation rests on the idea that Grande was unsatisfied with her salary.

The rumors saying that Grande earns more money than her co-star McCurdy were immediately slammed by Grande recently. According to the actress-singer, "The rumors circulating about our contracts and our salary not being equal are absolutely ridiculous and false. I don't know who's putting these idiotic quotes out there but I thought I'd straighten it out and try to end this nonsense," she wrote on Twitter last April 3.

When the show initially debuted on the network, it received high ratings and good viewership. Grande recently announced her gratitude to the public on her Twitter account, "So the news is out about Sam & Cat. I felt it wasn't my place to make any sort of announcement so I kept quiet until now. I want to thank Nickelodeon for making a childhood dream of mine come true, for being a family to me, for being so accommodating and supportive of my multitasking with my music career, and for of course introducing me to many of my fans however many years ago," she wrote.

Meanwhile, Grande's co-star, McCurdy who also played Sam Pukett on 'ICarly' remain silent on the matter, but reports speculate that McCurdy also had a big contribution towards the show's cancellation. Her recent Twitter post sparked the rumors, "I was put in an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation (many of you have guessed what it is) and I had to look out for me," she wrote.

So far, the rumors have not been answered and the fans of the sitcom are still waiting for the official announcement of the network, complete with the reasons for the cancellation.
