Ariana Grande Dating Rumors: Clarifies Ex-Boyfriend Cheating On Social Media: Infidelity Leads to Inspiration

It was recently revealed by Ariana Grande that the inspiration for her new song, "Break Your Heart Right Back," involved and ex-boyfriend who cheated on her... with another man.

"It's about a boy who cheats on a girl with another boy. That's a very fun concept. Well, originally it was going to be about a boy who cheats with a girl, but then I was like, 'No, I want it to be about a boy who cheats on a girl with another boy,'" Grande explained.

She also told Metro, "It's one of my favorites on the album and it's really funny because I believe it has happened to me. I'm not 100 per cent positive, but I'm 99.9 per cent positive," adding, "I would rather he cheats on me with a guy than with a girl any day! If I found out my boyfriend was gay, I would be like 'OK!' I'd be so relieved."

However, shortly after the news, Grande defended her story and said that event of her cheating, high-profile ex-boyfriend happened "a long time ago."

The 21-year-old star posted her stance on her Twitter account, @ArianaGrande, "people loooove twisting my words lol. I never said "my ex". so don't trip. It was a a looooong time ago.... and it made for a great song. ????" she said.

Evidently her Twitter post intended to clear up any rumors that might just blow out of proportion, "just thought I'd clear that up before any unnecessary drama takes place haha," she posted.

Grande's album, "Break Free," was released on Aug. 13.
