Messi's manager Alejandro Sabella echoed his star player's sentiments.

"In the first half, we had four or five clear chances to score a goal, and in the second half they complicated things for us with counterattacks," said Sabella to the media. "But having Messi resolved everything."

Nigeria is currently in second place behind Argentina in the Group F standings with 4 points following a recent 1-0 victory versus Bosnia on June 21. Nigeria previously finished their first World Cup match versus Iran in a scoreless tie. Nigeria would solidify their current spot in the Group F standings with a win versus Argentina or if Iran loses their upcoming match to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
