Arcade Fire New Album September 9th Release Date: Anticipated Follow up to 'The Suburbs', Producer James Murphy Interview

Arcade Fire fans have new reason to be excited for 2013.

The follow up to their highly successful The Subrbs album is scheduled to be released on September 9th, according to Revolt TV.

Arcade Fire were not able to record in the famed Quebec church that the band recorded both 2005's Neon Bible and 2010's The Suburbs. After structural problems, which included a collapsing roof, the band decided to sell the space in January.

The Canadian group worked on at least some of the new album with James Murphy in New York at his DFA studio.

Rolling Stone spoke with Murphy last month about working with Arcade Fire on their new album.

"There's a lot of them, and they're mostly self-produced -- like, they don't need a producer in a certain way," he said. Murphy spoke very highly of the quality of songs that they brought into the studio to start with. "I think it's going to be a really great record, actually," he said. "I'm eager to see it come out."
