Apple iWatch Release Date, Specs, Price, Compatibility and Features: Health & Fitness Apple Watch Launches Q1 2015

The most anticipated smartwatch of the year, the Apple iWatch, has finally been unveiled to the public at the Apple Keynote Conference Launch 2014 held on September 9. The device has officially been named the Apple Watch.

One of the most outstanding features of the device, is its ability to sync with the new iPhone 6 series, as well some previous iPhone models. On that note, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are expected to be released on Friday.

The whole idea behind the Apple Watch is that it provides the user with convenient health and fitness apps, amongst other programs, without the need to access a phone or tablet.

According to PC Advisor UK, the device is built with a flexible sapphire retina display that basically protects the sensors from everyday wear and tear. The ability of the device to respond to actions is made possible with Force Touch, a composition of microscopic electrodes that differentiates a tap from a press.

Moreover, the Taptic Engine capability allows the smartwatch to vibrate when notifications are received. Aside from that, users can sync data from daily activities directly to an iPhone or iPad through the built-in heart rate monitor, accelerometer, Wi-Fi, and GPS tracker.

Apple's Glance feature allows the user to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to view a summary of recently opened or running apps such as weather forecast, calendar, or current location. Similarly, Digital Touch is invented to connect with friends in a single touch using a small button under the Digital Crown.

Apple Watch will be made available in the first quarter of 2015 with an introductory price of US $349. It is compatible with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, and iPhone 5.
