Apple Watch In-Store Sales News: Cupertino Tech Titan Launches Smartwatch In-Store Sales; How to Get One

Apple Inc. on Wednesday started selling its Apple Watch from its in-store outlets in its retail stores in several countries, counting Japan and Australia. However, buying the smartwatch is not as easy as walking into a store and getting one.

Quoting Apple's updated online store website, IB Times reports that customers will be require making a reservation for their favorite Apple Watches before they visit the store beginning at 8.00 a.m., local time, every day. In fact, the company has warned that specific models of the Apple Watch may not be available prior to confirming a reservation owing to high demand.

In order to begin the registration process, potential customers will have to click the "Check reservation availability" link on the website's Apple Watch page. Shoppers can pick their local Apple Store from there to find an open reservation slot. If a particular watch model is available, a green checkmark will be displayed on the screen together with the subsequent available time. To make a reservation, potential customers will need to punch in a local mobile phone number and a unique reservation code will be sent to it. When the potential customer receives the unique code, he/ she will have 30 minutes to complete the reservation prior to the expiry of the code.

In case a particular watch model is unavailable for pick up in-store, the select-a-store option will be grayed out. In such instances, Apple asks shoppers to check the website again at 8 a.m. on the following day when the inventory is updated. On the other hand more patient shoppers can still obtain their preferred Apple Watch model online.

As of now, Apple is likely to offer limited in-store sales to the original launch countries and markets, including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. However, this may go soon, as Apple plant to expand the sales of its smartwatch to more countries from June 26, when the Apple Watch will be available in countries like Italy, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Taiwan.
