Apple iOS 8 Download Upgrade Problems: Update Tips & Advice
Apple's new iOS 8 has attracted many Apple fans to update their operating systems on their devices, new and old. However, reports say that those who have tried downloading iOS 8 have been facing problems with their devices.
One of the issues found in installing the new software is the fact that it takes up a lot of storage space.
To accommodate iOS 8, it is said that the users are required to have around 5.8 GB of free space. Due to this requirement, many users had to either transfer or delete 5 GB worth music, pictures, films, and other files, but in reality the iOS 8 only actually takes up around 1 GB of storage space.
The storage requirement is a problem for those people who have filled their storage space with files that they do not want to delete, especially those who only have 8 GB of allowable storage.
Although this issue is frustrating for some users, this problem is actually fixable by downloading the new operating system with the use of iTunes 11.4. By doing so, the users can update to iOS 8, without having to delete around 5 GB worth of files.
Application compatibility is also said to be a problem with the new operating system, since it was reported that a number of applications would not work on iOS 8.
The new operating system from Apple also reportedly removes any jailbreak that a user may have. This is a problem for some, since jailbreaking allows the installation of unapproved applications and feature enhancements.
It is also said that if a problem is encountered while installing the new operating system, it would be very difficult to downgrade back to iOS 7. Due to this, some Apple users decided to wait until they are sure that all their applications are compatible with the new software, so that they would not encounter any installation problems.
