Angie Miller: Pride of Beverly, MA / Hometown Rallies To Support 'American Idol'

The American Idol Season 12 Top 8 performance episode airs Wednesday night at 8/7c on FOX. Tonight's remaining 8 contestants (Angie Miller, Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, Amber Holcombe, Janelle Arthur, Lazaro Arbos, Devin Velez and Burnell Taylor" will sing the "Songs of Motown" with Detroit legend Smokey Robinson as mentor.

Beverly, Massachusetts native Angie Miller made her television debut during her American Idol audition that aired in January. To show support for one of Beverly's own, the town (39,796 population) has been busy designing lawn signs to put around the center of town. The signs read, "Beverly Main Streets Loves Angie Miller, Please Vote."

"We put them in downtown businesses like Beverly Cooperative Bank, TD Bank, Casa De Moda, Café Salerno, Super Sub, and Beverly Bootstraps," said Beverly Main Streets marketing coordinator Heather Wolsey. "We also put some by city hall and the train station."

Beverly Main Streets is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization focused on making downtown Beverly a great place to run a business, live, work, shop, dine and visit.

"We also dropped off a sign at Angie Miller's house, and her mother called us to say thank you," said Wolsey, explaining that Beverly Main Streets believed it was important to show that they support Miller's aspirations.

The American Idol crew also visited Angie Miller's high school. The students and staff of Beverly High School posed on the auditorium stage (where Miller has performed before) behind a brightly colored banner, which read: "Congratulations Angie! BHS is Proud."

Tune in Wednesday night 8/7c to American Idol to see which Motown song Angie Miller chooses.
