Angie Miller Leads the 'American Idol' Top 5 Girls [VIDEO] / Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, Amber Holcombe Shine / Janelle Arthur Likely Eliminated
Beverly, Massachussetts [just outside of Boston] native Angie Miller dedicated her "I'll Stand By You" performance to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing during last night's American Idol performance show.
"Praying for all of you in Boston right now, and to all the families of those who were injured," Angie Tweeted soon after the attack. "My heart is going out to my home."
18-year old Angie Miller chose the song because she wanted to somehow honor her hometown and the three reported deaths and 176 injuries, resulting from the Boston bombing Monday.
"I love Boston. I want Boston to know that I love them, and I hope that song did that," Miller said. She added that the song's lyrics "fit perfectly" with how she felt after hearing the news of the Boston bombing.
Angie, whose been accused of not connecting emotionally during her Idol performances, nailed the song and sentiment during last night's episode.
Angie Miller outdid herself on her second song, "Halo" by Beyonce. The judges only had great things to say about Miller's performance.
American Idol judge Keith Urban told Angie her "Halo" performance cemented her position in the Top 3.
Nicki Minaj told Miller, "Now! My! Angie! Miller! Is! Back! You did your thang!"
Randy Jackson: "Angie's in it to win it, y'all."
Miller took a risk stepping away from the piano for her second song. This time the risk paid off. But was Angie Miller's performance enough to beat out Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, Amber Holcomb and Janelle Arthur?
