Angie Miller,Kree Harrison Perform Beatles Songs on 'American Idol' Top 9
Tonight's episode of American Idol Season 12 kicked off with a bang as usual. The desperate American Idol producers pulled out the Lennon/McCartney songbook once again. The web is buzzing with some potential spoiler alerts but no sources have been confirmed.
Kree Harrison - "With A Little Help From My Friends"?
Burnell Taylor - "Let It Be"?
Angela Miller - "Yesterday"?
Amber Holcomb - "She's Leaving Home"??
Candice Glover - "Come Together"?
Devin Velez - TBD?
Janelle Arthur - TBD?
Lazaro Arbos - "In My Life"?
Paul Jolley - Eleanor Rigby
Regardless whether all of the rumors are true, each of the nine contestants: Angie Miller, Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, Janelle Arthur, Amber Holcombe, Lazaro Arbos, Devin Velez, Paul Jolley, and Burnell Taylor will be singing the songs of The Beatles.
The last time American Idol used this theme was Season 9. They regretfully used the same theme twice in Season 7.
The Top 9 episode opened up with a montage of Beatles clips and famed music producer Jimmy Iovine stressing the importance of nailing the performances. Being some of the most covered and most recognizable songs of all time, viewers across America will know pretty quickly if one of the contestants isn't up for the challenge.
Within the first 5 minutes of show American Idol is already running a Coke add featuring "Call Me Maybe" darling Carly Rae Jespen. During a quick add Jespen announces she'll be debuting her new song, tentatively titled "Take A Picture" as part of Coke's Perfect Harmony Pprogram.
Charley Askew and Aubrey Cleland then proceed onto stage to find out which one of them won the 11th spot on the American Idol Live tour this summer. The results are in...sorry Charlie, it's Aubrey Cleland.
Tune in now to American Idol on FOX, Wednesdays and Thursday at 8/7c.
